Job Title: Contracts Manager

Overview:
A growing organisation in the construction/manufacturing sector is seeking a proactive and experienced Contracts Manager to oversee the full life cycle of project contracts—from post-sale handover through to final completion. This is a key role requiring a detail-oriented individual with strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to high standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Contract Management:
1. Take full ownership of contracts post-sale handover.
2. Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
3. Monitor and manage project timelines, deliverables, and budgets.
Procurement:
1. Oversee procurement of materials and subcontracted services.
2. Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favorable terms.
3. Ensure materials meet all project requirements and specifications.
Design Coordination:
1. Collaborate with design teams to ensure timely and accurate deliverables.
2. Review and approve technical drawings and specifications.
3. Address and resolve any design-related issues.
Client Liaison:
1. Act as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project.
2. Maintain strong client relationships and provide clear communication.
3. Address queries and provide regular updates on project status.
Health and Safety:
1. Ensure full compliance with all health and safety regulations.
2. Develop site-specific safety plans and conduct regular inspections.
3. Promote a safe working environment across all sites.
Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS):
1. Create, review, and communicate RAMS to ensure compliance and understanding.
2. Monitor on-site implementation of safety measures.
Documentation:
1. Maintain clear and accurate records including contracts, drawings, specifications, and correspondence.
2. Ensure documentation is properly organized and stored.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Proven experience in a similar role within construction or manufacturing (experience with steel doors, fire-rated products, or similar is advantageous).
2. Strong knowledge of contract law, construction processes, and procurement.
3. Proficient in project management tools/software.
4. Familiarity with health and safety legislation and practices.
5. Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
6. Relevant qualifications in construction management or a related discipline (degree, HND, or equivalent).
7. CSCS card, SMSTS or SSSTS certification is desirable.
