About Porth Tocyn Hotel Owned by the Fletcher-Brewer family for over 75 years, Porth Tocyn is a 17-bedroom country house hotel with a 2 Rosette restaurant, a self-catering cottage, and a cozy shepherd’s hut for glamping —all set within 25 acres of farmland overlooking Cardigan Bay. Guests love our outdoor heated swimming pool, tennis court, and stunning views, and we take pride in delivering exceptional hospitality in a relaxed, welcoming setting. Your Role as a General Assistant A varied, hands-on role where you’ll support different areas of the hotel, including: Restaurant & Bar Service – Taking orders, serving food & drinks, and creating a warm dining experience. Housekeeping – Ensuring rooms and communal areas are clean and welcoming. Reception & Guest Services – Checking guests in/out and assisting with inquiries. Kitchen & Porter Duties – Supporting the kitchen team as needed. (optional additional) What We’re Looking For We’re after friendly, hardworking, and proactive individuals who thrive in a team environment. Experience in hospitality is a plus, but not essential – a great attitude is what matters most You should be: Committed to delivering high levels of customer service. Reliable, motivated, and eager to learn. A team player with strong communication skills. Adaptable to different roles and tasks. Ready to embrace the fun and fast pace of the season Hours & Working Patterns We operate on a shift system, including: Morning shift Housekeeping shift Afternoon shift Evening shift Most roles will involve working two shifts per day, including split shifts. Hours will vary based on demand, averaging 35 hours per week across the season (with increased hours in peak season). Days Off: These will vary weekly, but we aim to accommodate requests with notice. Weekends and bank holidays are our busiest times, so availability is essential. Perks & Benefits Accommodation Available – Stay in our staff cottage right behind the hotel (single occupancy rooms) - £6.50/day offset. Two Meals a Day – Breakfast and dinner included in the £6.50/day offset. Team Events & Activities – Enjoy a vibrant team environment with regular social events. Tips & Bonuses – All tips go directly to the staff and are pooled based on hours worked. Management never get involved in staff tips.
