----------------------------------- Key Responsibilities
The main purpose of this role is:
* To ensure compliance with SEND Code of Practice and relevant statutory requirements
* To work with the leadership team on creating an inclusive culture with high aspirations for students with SEND
* To implement the academy's SEND policy and provision
* To maintain an accurate and up-to-date SEND Profile
* To accurately identify SEND needs through rigorous assessment processes
* To model Quality First Teaching and differentiation in own teaching practice
* To embed Quality First Teaching across the academy
* To develop targeted interventions enabling students with SEND to make progress
* To provide professional development on SEND, ensuring staff have knowledge and skills to plan teaching effectively
* To track student progress using various data sources
* To deploy staff and resources according to SEND student needs
Requirements & Qualifications
We are looking for someone with:
* QTS (or equivalent) and a good undergraduate degree
* Continuing Professional Development relevant to the SENCO role or willingness to undertake training
* Knowledge of national priorities and curriculum development
* Understanding of quality assurance techniques
* Appreciation of student motivation
* Experience working with stakeholders such as parents, governors, employers etc
