Category Manager - Electronic Devices
Up to £52,000 per annum
Initial contract until 30th June but subject to performance and budget can extend to a total duration of 18 months
Hybrid role working 2 days a week in their London office and 3 days remote working
Working for a global technology company, we are looking for a Category Manager to look after their laptops and tablet range across Northern Europe. The Category Manager drives the overall Laptop and Tablet business with a focus on key strategic retailers and sales channels.
As Category Manager, you will be part of a team for Northern Europe (UK, Ireland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway & Finland), who are responsible for defining and executing our consumer product and solution go-to-market strategy; influence product roadmap, business models and strategy; and manage long term health of the business through actionable customer insights to and from partners.
Responsibilities
1. Leverage industry knowledge, channel insights, and customer understanding to drive strategic alignment, digital transformation, and land joint business objectives with partners.
2. Define & own implementation of product specific channel strategy and investments, with a focus on retail sales channel.
3. Design of product strategic programs, incentives, promotions, and upper funnel activities partnering with Business & Sales Operations (BSO) team and the product marketing teams.
4. Influence long range product and Go To Market (GTM) planning.
5. Drive product/solutions consumer channel GTM partnering across internal stakeholders.
6. Be the internal and external voice of the product/solution with our partners in the region.
7. Manage portfolio of investments, channels, motions to maximize short term results (rev, scorecard) and lifetime value.
8. Create field/local enablement to execute the priorities:
1. Tools, process, stakeholder management and alignment across functions.
2. Includes creation and localization of partner pitch deck/storytelling.
3. WW and regional seasonal guidance.
4. Retail GTM readiness.
9. Pilot new GTM & Sales motions to future proof our business.
10. Direct To Consumer (not thru partner) product GTM e.g. PR, local owned & operated Advertising (ATL & BTL), partnerships and events.
11. Manage Launch Events - Leverage PR Moments we can showcase new products and tell our innovation story across the entire portfolio.
12. Accountable for product revenue, P&L and compensable metric results including forecasting.
Required/Minimum Qualifications
1. Category management, product management, marketing strategy, business planning, product planning, or related work experience.
2. Experience managing and expanding a category and attaining sales and profitability targets within a complex (e.g., multinational or matrixed) organization.
Relevant Skills
1. Knowledge of the Consumer needs, buying practices, sales goals, and the retail environment related to the Consumer PC Category.
2. Experience with Consumer product purchasing and inventory control.
3. Ability to analyze sales data, draw relevant conclusions, develop accurate business plans and forecasts, and drive execution.
4. Understanding of budget, profit & loss, margin, investment, and operating expense accountability.
5. Growth Mindset and innovative thinking to identifying and executing business opportunities.
6. Ability to influence multiple stakeholder groups and connect with diverse audiences.
7. Thought leader, risk taker, and lifelong learner; Digital and social influencer in the market.
8. Experience planning and executing marketing strategies and activities that drive business results while remaining true to the brand.
