The Role: Electro / Mechanical Fitter
The role will involve:
1. Stripping down and repairing electrical motors, carrying out inspections and fault finding.
2. Carrying out service/remedial work and then re-assembling motors/equipment, final testing, painting and preparing for delivery.
3. Manually moving and handling items which may be heavy / difficult to hold.
4. Working to the required EHS requirements and Quality standards.
5. Identifying and implementing improvements.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate:
1. Experience working in a multi-disciplinary role that has mechanical and electrical elements is essential.
2. Experience working as a mechanical bench fitter ideally with armature motor rewinding.
3. Working on HV, LV, AC and DC rotating equipment.
4. Ability to work as part of a small busy team.
5. Self-motivated, conscientious, enthusiastic and adaptable approach.
6. Reliable with good timekeeping.
7. Dexterous, physically fit and able to lift.
8. Able to work on own initiative and under pressure.
Preferably they will also be able to show:
1. HNC, Apprenticeship or equivalent in an Engineering discipline.
2. GCSE (or equivalent) passes in Maths and English Language.
3. Dynamic balancing experience.
4. Vibration/condition monitoring experience.
5. 17th/18th Edition certification.
6. Safety Qualifications or Training.
Hours of work are 37.5 hours Mon- Fri, with occasional enhanced rate overtime or weekend work during as the workload requires. Salaries are commensurate with experience but certainly competitive, and other benefits include; Company pension scheme, 23 days annual leave (plus bank holidays) which rises with service.
