As an Offshore Operations Technician, supporting North Hoyle Wind Farm, you will be working as part of a small team that oversees the wind farm. Your primary responsibility will be to carry out offshore supervision and project management of offshore activities while acting as a Limited Authorised Technician under the Wind Turbine Safety Rules for escorting 3rd party contractors and internal engineering services. The position reports to the North Hoyle Operations Manager and supports the Operations Engineer. About the role
* Ensuring conformity with health, safety and environmental (HSE) standards as well as further development and optimisation in this field
* Overseeing contractor performance in the planning, coordinating and supervising of all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, servicing and repair works including foundations and blade inspections offshore
* Accountability as Deputy Person to the Operations Engineer
* Supporting Operations Manager and Engineer with the offshore supervision of works and contractors mainly focusing on WTG foundation and blade inspections, NDT and repair etc
* Support for the Operations Engineer in maintaining site-specific documentation on the Health & Safety Management System (ERP's, Environmental Procedures, Operational procedures)
* Support Location Manager with WTSR and HV safety rules including response and participation to scheduled audits
* Support with the implementation of ongoing life extension activities including the organisation and execution of relevant inspections
* Conduct onsite audits of Contractors O&M activities during both scheduled and unscheduled tasks
* Work closely with the Engineering and Operation's team to ensure optimal planning of resources, plant downtime, and continued asset integrity through life
* Site and support for 3rd party statutory inspection of PPE and lifting equipment both on and offshore
A technical electrical or mechanical qualification to HNC standard or equivalent
* Enhanced MS-Office skills
* Ability to work offshore as well as at heights
* Flexible due to the nature of the offshore environment, and the ability to stay offshore for short periods at a time including availability at weekends during peak activity
* Comfortable inspecting components offshore, often while working at height or in restricted / confined spaces
* Capable of attaining limited authorisation under WTSR to direct 3rd party contractors to carry out inspections and repairs of components - namely blade inspections and repairs and balance of plant inspection and repairs in confined space environment
* Comfortable working in an office environment, assessing information to provide solutions via reports and presentations
* Comfortable working offshore in all weathers using heavy, complex mechanical and electrical equipment, so you will demonstrate a high-level commitment to Health and Safety in all aspects of your work
