Department of Oncology, Old Road Campus Research Building, Radiobiology Research Institute, Headington, Oxford OX3 7DQ About the role An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Department of Oncology as a Postdoctoral Researcher working on an innovative MRC GAP Award grant project focused on developing novel cancer therapeutics. As a Postdoctoral Researcher, you will manage all aspects of this research project, including the synthesis of peptide-antibody conjugates and conducting experiments to investigate their cellular uptake. Working closely with Professor Katherine Vallis and collaborators, you will contribute to advancing this promising therapeutic approach with potential to transform cancer treatment strategies.This position is based at the Old Road Campus Research Building, Radiobiology Research Institute, Headington, Oxford, and is offered on a full-time basis for a fixed term of 16 months. About you You will hold a PhD/DPhil (or be near completion) in a relevant discipline such as cell or molecular biology, biochemistry, biomedical engineering, or chemical biology. Your strong laboratory research skills in cell and molecular biology and protein expression techniques will be complemented by specialist knowledge of cancer biology to facilitate collaborative work with other scientists in related research programmes.You will possess excellent project management abilities to coordinate research activities and meet deadlines, along with the capacity to test hypotheses and analyze data from various sources. A good publication record at the level of first author in peer-reviewed journals demonstrates your research capabilities.Your excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, will enable you to write for publication, present research proposals and results, and represent the research group at meetings. The ability to work independently while also contributing to team discussions and acting as a source of information for other group members will be essential.A personal licence (PIL) for animal work is required for this position.
