Within the epilepsy service we provide first seizure, epilepsy surgery, adolescent transition, neuro-obstetrics and learning disability/epilepsy clinics in addition to the general/complex epilepsy clinics. Weekly MDTs are held with the neurophysiology department to review EEGs, and there is a twice monthly epilepsy surgery meeting. We are planning to expand our provision of video-telemetry. We are happy to discuss how a successful candidate could use this year to develop a subspecialist interest and gain experience in these areas.
The appointee will be expected to participate in the weekly academic meetings and will have the chance to contribute to the departmental teaching programme for the undergraduate medical students from Newcastle University and to contribute to the postgraduate training.
