Electrical Design
Work Arrangement: Flexible (Hybrid/Remote options available)
The Opportunity
Are you an engineer with an eye for innovation and a heart for problem-solving? Join a team at the forefront of naval technology, where your designs will help protect and empower global maritime operations. This role offers a unique opportunity to blend your technical expertise with creativity, working on projects that define the future of defence and security in the maritime sector.
Your Role
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal part in delivering bespoke solutions for advanced naval systems. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, software developers, and systems architects, to bring projects from concept to completion. Your work will directly support the development of sonar, radar, and power systems that redefine naval operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Design & Development: Create detailed electrical designs, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and layouts, tailored for unique naval applications.
* Testing & Validation: Conduct simulations and tests to validate system performance, ensuring all designs meet strict quality and compliance standards.
* Collaboration: Partner with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems into broader projects.
* Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement design improvements to enhance system efficiency and reliability.
* Documentation: Generate comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, reports, and user manuals, for both internal and client use.
* Compliance: Ensure designs adhere to relevant standards and regulations, particularly in safety-critical environments.
What You’ll Need
Essential Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline.
* Proven experience in electrical design, ideally within a high-tech, safety-critical environment.
* Proficiency with design tools such as AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar CAD software.
* Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including power distribution, control systems, and signal processing.
* Experience with system integration and working within multidisciplinary teams.
Desirable Skills:
* Familiarity with defence or maritime industries.
* Experience working on projects involving sonar, radar, or naval power systems.
* Understanding of regulatory standards (e.g., MIL-STD, DEF-STAN, or IEC standards).
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet project deadlines.
