An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Lead Nurse to join our multi-disciplinary Occupational Health and Wellbeing team at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Our Occupational Health team aims to improve the health, safety and general wellbeing of all staff, striving to create a healthier working environment, ensuring all staff who work at CUH have a good experience - with a positive impact on their health, safety and wellbeing. Based in a purpose-built building on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, our Occupational Health team includes occupational health specialist doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and administrative personnel.

Experience in Occupational Health is desirable though not essential for this post. We are seeking a senior nurse with a passion for supporting and developing others whilst providing visible, on-site leadership to motivate, develop and inspire their teams. You will have significant experience of line management, including sickness and performance management.
We are looking for a positive and effective team worker with highly developed communication skills. The ability to prioritise work, challenge, negotiate, take decisions and deliver under pressure is essential.
Main duties of the job
The Occupational Health Senior Lead Nurse will be an active member of the OH senior leadership team and will provide professional guidance, leadership and direction to the OH nursing team (Nurse Managers, Practice Development Nurse, Occupational Health Nurse Advisors, OH Nurses and Technicians).
Reporting to the Head of Service and working closely with the Clinical Lead and other members of SLT, the successful candidate will be accountable for the efficient and effective operational management of the nursing workforce, guaranteeing provision of high-quality evidence-based nursing practice and playing a pivotal role in successfully delivering on our key strategic priorities, physical health, psychological health and screening, surveillance and vaccination.
The post holder will be a strong clinical leader, highly visible and accessible to the OH team and service users. As an advocate for the nursing team, they will hold responsibility for clinical governance and risk management from a nursing perspective and will be the nursing lead for IT systems and service improvement.

Qualifications
* Registered Nurse
* Postgraduate qualification in Occupational Health (OH) or equivalent or working towards
* Advanced clinical assessment skills
* Non-medical prescriber
* OH research module
* Advanced communication skills or counselling qualification
* Master's degree in OH or other relevant discipline e.g. public health or willingness to work towards
* Teaching and coaching/mentoring qualification
Knowledge / Experience
* Significant clinical experience as a nurse specialist in the OH speciality (including case management, vaccination programmes, triaging referrals and health surveillance)
* Recognised as an expert in the field of practice with the ability to clinically assess and diagnose.
* Line management including recruitment and selection, induction, continuing professional development and performance management
* Operational service management including developing, monitoring and reporting on activity targets and key performance indicators (KPIs)
* Understanding of clinical governance and management of complaints and investigations
* Sound knowledge of relevant OH and staff health and safety legislation
* Experience in project management
* Evidence of leading service change.
* Managing resources
* Practical experience of policy and process development
* Audit or research experience
* Experience of Safe Effective Quality Occupational Health Service (SEQOHS) standards and accreditation processes
* Broad range of OH experience both within an NHS OH setting and/or the private sector
