We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Tutor to provide tailored educational support to children in care in Haringey. This is a rewarding opportunity to help some of the most vulnerable young people overcome barriers to learning, achieve their potential, and build confidence in their abilities.
Responsibilities:
* Assess the individual educational needs of children in care and create tailored learning plans.
* Plan and deliver engaging, one-to-one or small group tuition sessions across a range of subjects.
* Provide academic and emotional support to help students overcome challenges and thrive.
* Track and monitor progress, offering feedback to carers, social workers, and other professionals as required.
* Create a supportive and nurturing learning environment that fosters resilience and self-esteem.
* Adapt teaching strategies to meet the unique needs of each child, including those with SEN or additional challenges.
Qualifications:
* Experienced in working with children in care or vulnerable young people.
* Skilled in assessing, planning, and delivering bespoke educational support.
* Knowledgeable about the challenges faced by children in care, including trauma and disrupted education.
* Patient, empathetic, and passionate about helping young people succeed.
* Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with professionals and carers.
Minimum Requirements:
* Relevant teaching or tutoring experience (QTS or specialist qualifications in education or SEN are desirable but not essential).
* An understanding of the educational and emotional needs of children in care.
* A valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check or willingness to obtain one.
* Flexibility to work part-time hours tailored to student availability.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
