We're looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Production Operative to join our vital and hardworking team within the props department. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to the look and feel of a national television favourite.
The role
Reporting to the Props and Scenery Manager, you'll be an integral part of the production process, both in the studio and on location. Your responsibilities will encompass a diverse range of tasks, including setting and striking scenery, meticulously dressing sets, and acting as a key crew member in the role of standby props when required. You'll also be involved in dressing and setting props, maintaining the props store, and potentially utilising your driving skills with company and hired vehicles, including LGVs if qualified.
Skills you'll need (minimum criteria)
* Minimum 6 months experience working within either theatre or entertainment industry with knowledge of scene setting or dressing
* Demonstrable passion to work on Emmerdale sets and locations
* This role requires props and scenery to be moved/driven between locations and therefore requires the ability to manoeuvre and lift heavy and/or awkward equipment (or equivalent arrangements as part of a reasonable adjustment)
* Demonstrable experience of being responsible for your own safety and the safety of others
* Flexible approach to work and working hours as work is allocated on a roster basis
* Due to the nature of the Production absolute confidentiality is required. Therefore experience dealing with confidential or sensitive information in a work environment is required
* Flexible approach and prepared to work long hours
* Some travel to external locations may be required due to the location element of the role
* Full and valid UK driving licence is essential (or equivalent arrangements as part of a reasonable adjustment).
