Job summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic andhighly motivated Assistant Patient support Officer (admin & clerical) towork as part of our friendly team which provides a diagnostic Cardiology andRespiratory service to both in-patients and out-patients. The post involvesadministrative and reception duties, including dealing with patient and staffqueries, managing clinics on the Trust IT systems and making and amendingappointments. The principal hospitals within County Durham and Darlington NHSFoundation Trust are University Hospital of North Durham, Darlington MemorialHospital, Bishop Auckland Hospital and Shotley Bridge Hospital. The Cardiologyand Respiratory Investigation Units provide a broad range of invasive and noninvasive procedures. We are committed toproviding learning and development opportunities to all our staff.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will workas part of a team in a busy Cardio-Respiratory Department.
As a department, we pride ourselves on the quality of diagnosticservices we provide for patients. Youshould have experience of reception and administrative work. Have goodcommunication skills and be able to use your own initiative. Enjoy working withpeople and as part of a team.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.

This post will be based at the Bishop Auckland Hospital,however the post holder will be expected to be flexible and there may be somerequirement to work at Darlington Memorial. You may also be required to supportservices at the other sites within the Trust.
