Cardiology is fortunate in having a dedicated Cardiac Catheter Suite.
We undertake a variety of procedures including angiography, percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), including out of hours on call for Acute Myocardial Infarction patients, pacemakers and complex devices.
In this role you will provide pre and post procedure nursing care to patients’ undergoing coronary angiograms, percutaneous coronary interventions, pacemakers (including defibrillators and heart failure devices), transesophageal echocardiograms and dobutamine stress echocardiograms. You will also be expected to support the out of hours on-call service and.may require rotation to the cardiac ward.
You will work in the lab and out-patient departments within our multidisciplinary team ensuring safe practice is delivered within the Cardiology department. You will rotate between the Cardiac Catheter Suite and recovery bay, and support clinics / procedures in the Out Patient Department as required.
You must be a 1st Level Registered Nurse (Diploma/Degree), with generic pre-registration experience in an acute setting. It is desirable that you have worked within a hospital environment and specialty.

To support the ward Matron in maintaining efficient, effective, safe delivery of patient care undergoing procedures. The post will also involve coordinating the patient flow for the above plus pre – assessment clinics in the outpatient department.
