- Working Pattern: Full-Time, 36 hours per week, 3 days office, 1 day resident visits, 1 day WFH
Salary: £20.52 p/h PAYE or approx £25 p/h Umbrella

Responsibilities:
As a Financial Inclusion Officer, you will:
5. Provide support with income maximisation, employment/training advice, budgeting, and money/debt management to minimise the impact of welfare reform on residents
6. Establish key partnerships and working relationships with internal departments and other agencies to help residents access financial services and support
7. Effectively manage a caseload of Universal Credit (UC) claimants, providing timely advice and guidance to ensure successful claims and minimise arrears
8. Build relationships with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to provide comprehensive referral and advice services for UC claimants
9. Update and maintain IT systems for Universal Credit and welfare reform changes, providing statistical information as required
10. Draught presentations and publications to promote the importance of paying rent, income maximisation, and budgeting to residents
11. Visit residents in their homes to verify their circumstances and authenticate documentation according to housing benefit regulations
12. Provide comprehensive advice and information on rent payments and the legal implications of non-payment, negotiating acceptable re-payment plans and promoting direct debit
13. Assist residents in accessing other financial assistance, such as Discretionary Housing Payments and crisis grants
14. Monitor outcomes and impact of interventions and welfare reform changes using relevant IT systems
Essential (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):
15. Knowledge of housing law, housing benefit legislation, and welfare reform
16. Ability to negotiate rent/debt repayments with third parties on behalf of residents
17. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
18. Basic calculation skills
19. Customer service mindset and the ability to work with a diverse community
20. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
21. Experience working with customers in a diverse community
22. Experience dealing with welfare benefits and providing basic money advice
23. Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
Desirable (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):
24. Previous experience working in partnership with statutory and voluntary agencies
25. Familiarity with IT systems for recording and monitoring outcomes
