To be responsible for the operational management of the Cardiac Rehab team based at St Richard's Hospital but running classes at St Richard's Hospital and Community locations. To be responsible for the training and development of the staff working in the cardiac rehabilitation team. To lead in the advanced assessment, clinical diagnosis and treatment of patients who may have complex needs To provide an effective high quality service to all patients and assist with the supervision and teaching of physiotherapists/students/technicians/assistants in that speciality To provide skilled team leadership and service development To implement policy and policy changes in own clinical area and to assist with the setting and monitoring of standards of practice. To undertake evidence based projects in conjunction with the MDT, including recommendations for change in practice and to lead in appropriate departmental research in this clinical area. To problem solve clinical and non-clinical complex situations To be prepared to participate in future 7 day service provision if applicable. To take a lead role in the assessment, planning and treatment of patients on the Cardiac Rehabilitation Programme. To manage the comprehensive, evidence-based programme of exercise, education sessions and support, with patients who may have chronic or complex presentations. To co-ordinate and evaluate the Cardiac Rehabilitation exercise and education programme in partnership with the multidisciplinary team, and maintain records as an autonomous practitioner. To act as a source of expertise in the Physiotherapy identity and management of MI, revascularisation and other Cardiac surgery, and provide an education service to patients, carers, Physiotherapists, Physiotherapy students and other health care professionals. To be the Physiotherapy lead in the service development, planning and audit. To participate in the on-going education and training activities within Cardiac Rehabilitation Physiotherapy team.
