Education and Academic Services
There are two new full-time posts available starting from January 2025 on a permanent basis.
This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus and some from home.
Department Overview
Learning Experiences & Innovation (LXI) is the ‘go-to’ service across the Exeter learning community in uplifting our students, academics, staff and partners to co-create a distinctive learning experience where every learner thrives. LXI consists of seven main units; Educator Development, Student Voice & Change, Learning Development, Learning Design, Experimentation & Innovation; Programme Design & Quality Enhancement, and Educational Policy, Quality & Standards. The teams work alongside and in support of several portfolios focused on the University’s key strategic aims.
Summary of the role
The LXI Portfolio Officer will be responsible for supporting the delivery of significant education and student experience initiatives to achieve the goals of Faculties and actively support the delivery of Strategy 2030. This role will collaborate with a wide range of teams across Faculties including the Associate Pro-Vice-Chancellors Education and Student Experience and Senior Education Partners to ensure the effective integration of key institutional initiatives into the Faculty, with a focus particularly initially on Curriculum for Change.
Curriculum for Change (C4C) is a three-year programme working to realise our strategic commitment to develop a distinctive and sustainable model for education by 2030. Over the next three years, the C4C programme will oversee an institution-wide review and redesign of our programmes and modules to create a cohesive, attractive and sustainable curriculum and to equip students with the skills and mindsets to tackle challenges and create a better future.
You will work with the Head of Learning Piloting and Scaling and the Senior Education Partners to support the delivery and implementation of the Faculty roadmap for Curriculum for Change, and, in time, other major institutional initiatives being led from Learning Experiences and Innovation.
A key role will be building effective relationships with academic colleagues across Departments in order to support and facilitate the redesign of programmes and modules in line with a new set of agreed Design Principles.
This role will be responsible for delivering key elements and deliverables of projects within set timescales and with any identified resources. The LXI Portfolio Officer will liaise with the Head of Learning Piloting and Scaling to ensure that planning and resources are aligned well to meet the delivery needs.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the University as it begins a journey to reimagine its education and learning experiences for the future.
