Senior Marketing Executive

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to fulfil the role of Senior Marketing Executive and join Grandstand Media Limited (GML) to lead and implement the digital strategy for Horse of the Year Show and the British Showjumping National Championships, two of the most prestigious equestrian events in the UK. Alongside other supporting equestrian events that the business organises.
Grandstand Media Limited is a team of specialists with many years’ experience planning, organising and running equine events. Most notably Horse of the Year Show (Birmingham, CSI 3*) which GML has organised since 1997 the event now welcomes over 60,000 visitors in October at the NEC. The British Showjumping National Championships and Stoneleigh Horse Show was added to the company profile in 2015. Most recent additions to the business profile include The Showing Register and the Showing World Awards.
ROLE PURPOSE
This is a full-time position with an immediate start, located at the GML offices at Stoneleigh Park. Additionally, during events the applicant will be required, along with the company’s other personnel (at the expense of the company) to be based at the host venue of the event.
To excel in this role, you will need to be proactive and bring the ability to use data, creativity and market insights to increase brand awareness and convert these into sales.
You are a strong marketing professional with excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills, and a genuine interest in equestrian events. You’re an ambitious and positive team player, with the ability to manage multiple projects and to different marketing elements of the business.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Develop, manage, and execute effective campaign strategies across multiple channels (Social Media, You Tube, Newsletters/e-shots, CRM & website etc.) to drive customer retention and engagement.
2. Working with the Event Director and in-house teams to develop and deliver the marketing strategy, plans and initiatives to meet strategic objectives for the events and services.
3. Managing external suppliers across multiple marketing functions (Content Creators, Social Media Ads, Designer, Ticketing Agent etc.)
4. Developing an annual plan to a budget and managing and delivering campaigns within this budget.
5. Engage and collaborate effectively with teams to develop relevant marketing strategies, create effective sales collateral, presentations, proposals and lead generation campaigns.
6. Use data to analyse performance to derive insights to drive meaningful improvements.
7. Copywriting for promotional material, official programme, website and press releases.
8. Contribute to process improvement by flagging potential issues or enhancement opportunities.
9. Custodian of our brand guidelines and marketing plans.
10. Keep abreast of industry and competitive trends to identify and develop innovative marketing campaigns.
11. Ensure accurate use of CRM system and data management.
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
12. Three years relevant experience in campaign / marketing experience, preferably within a digital environment.
13. Strong interpersonal and excellent stakeholder management skills with experience building relationships with different user groups to foster collaboration and consumer engagement.
14. Positive attitude and professional presentation with well-developed written and oral communication skills.
15. A self-starter, independent, motivated and result-oriented individual with the ability to work within a team environment.
16. Experience managing multiple projects and competing priorities, proactively setting the business direction and managing daily deliverables.
17. Strong analytical and data-driven mindset and able to deal with data and translate this into actionable insights.
18. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively to budget and deadlines.
19. Proficient in the use of CRM systems and MS Office (including Word, Excel, Constant Contact/Newsletter platforms and Canva/InDesign, PowerPoint).
20. Genuine interest and knowledge of the equestrian industry.

23. Working at events may require a minimum of 8 weekend days per annum
24. The applicant must understand the requirement for extra hours (within the basic salary contract) both prior to and during the Events.
