The Role
To work collaboratively with the Chief Nurse and Head of Public Protection and with the Adult Protection Co-ordinator/Development Worker of the Local Authority areas to develop a high quality Adult Support and Protection service in line with national guidance contributing to the strategic planning and development relating to Adult Support and Protection.
Implement Adult Support and Protection Case Supervision for identified staff groups.
Provide higher specialist advice in relation to the case management of vulnerable adults including those in need of protection.
Contribute towards the development and implementation of support systems and training for practitioners within NHS Lanarkshire.
To work in partnership with member agencies of Adult Support and Protection Committee Sub Groups/Task Groups and be active in maintaining and further developing professional links with other local and national organisations.

What we'll need you to bring
Professional Qualifications essential:
1. Registered NMAHP
2. post registration experience
3. working within adult services and experience of Adult Support and Protection
Academic Qualifications essential:
4. First level Degree
5. Post Graduate Professional Qualification such as Post Graduate Certificate in Adult Support and Protection (Master’s certificate level =Scottish Certificate Qualification Framework level 11)
The post holder should have the following skills, knowledge and ability:
6. Ongoing training/education in Adult Support and Protection related issues
7. Experience of effective, excellent Team Work/Partnership working with a range of multi-professional groups
8. Excellent, effective communication skills, both oral and written
9. Leadership skills – evidence of clinical leadership
10. Presentation skills -Understanding and competence in the use of training and education methods.
11. Experience of developing clinical pathways, guidelines and outcome measures
12. Experience of prioritising numerous concurrent issues
13. Implement evidence based practice
14. Ability to critically appraise research literature for application to practice
15. Ability to analyse complex information to make professional decisions.
16. Developed expertise in own field
17. Driving licence
18. Ability to work well under pressure
19. Evidence of Continuous Professional Development
20. Evidence of personal contribution to and leading of service planning and redesign projects
21. Knowledge of the principles of facilitation, supervision, audit and research.
22. Additional extension of skills as deemed essential for post.
