Responsible to: Store Manager and Assistant Manager Main purpose of job:To promote and deliver the very highest standard of Customer Service. To assist in maximising the profitability of the Store through the effective and efficient use of all available resources. Ensure all standards, objectives and targets are achieved and assist in implementing and maintaining all WineFlair Policies & Procedures. To support your Store Management Team in all aspects of their work and deputise in their absence. Tasks/duties involved: Customer Service Provide efficient and friendly customer, greeting and assisting Customers in a way that sets an excellent standard of conduct for other staff Ensure customers are served as efficiently as possible by ensuring staffing levels meet busy and till staff are being as effective as required. Strive to meet all Customer requests or demands wherever possible. Respond politely to any Customer query or complaint and endeavour to resolve these issues or escalate to Manager if unable to address at time. Share your product knowledge with customers and offer advice where appropriate. Know the layout and appearance of the Store and ensure it is appealing to Customers Be well presented and professional in terms of dress code and conduct at all times. Wear the Company uniform as provided and in accordance with Company Policy. Merchandising & Sales Ensure all promotional shelf, end-bays and floor displays are built and maintained to maximise potential sales Ensure all fridges, freezers and daily cabinets are set to the correct temperatures for the relevant products being displayed and the relevant temperature checks have been completed. Ensure all fresh fruit and veg. displays are checked regularly through your shift to ensure all products meet the required standards (damaged items etc.) well-presented and adequate stock. Assist in merchandising of all products in an appealing way to capture the attention of customers and increased sales. Ensure all products on display are in date and Date Checks have been completed Ensure all labelling and pricing is accurate to meet Standards and internal Targets Keep abreast of all promotional and/or special offers within your Store Ensure all Staff on shift are aware of Store promotions and/or special offers Ensure all promotional and special offers information is displayed in full view for Customers and Customers are advised of potential savings at the tills by staff Ensure there is sufficient stock for all promotions and/or special offers available on the shop floor to meet demand and increase sales Ensure all stock issues /concerns are escalated to your Manager for immediate action Ensure no advertising posters/promotional material other than those authorised by Head Office are displayed. Ensure staff are set tasks while on shift, shelves are clean, well-stocked and front facing, and that stock rotation is carried out on a regular basis. Be aware of local competitor activity, informing your Store Manager/Area Manager of any changes or new developments. Health and Safety Understand and ensure all staff are abiding by Health and Safety at Work Policies & Procedures. Ensure all areas of the premises (including staff areas, stockrooms, yards and shop fronts) are kept neat, tidy and safe from obstacles /hazard risks at all times. Conduct routine inspections of the retail premises during your shift and delegate any tasks necessary to staff standards are maintained. Ensure compliance with all Food Hygiene laws and regulations at all times Be familiar with the location and how to use of all fire extinguishers and emergency/fire evacuation procedures. Ensure you and staff are always using the correct manual handling procedures when receiving orders and replenishing stock. Record all injuries and accidents in the Accident Book and ensure an Accident Form is completed and e-mail to H&S Manager and H.R. Manager at Head Office. Security Ensure WineFlairs property and equipment are safeguarded at all times. Be aware and monitoring any suspicious circumstances or potential security risks and take appropriate action as required to ensure the safeguard of staff, customers and Company assets. Record all incidents on an Incident Form and e-mail to H&S Manager and H.R. Manager at Head Office. Be familiar with the use of CCTV surveillance equipment and Store security systems. Ensure all safes and closed, secured, locked when not in use and that appropriate security measures are always taken when having to open any safe. Maintain professional confidentiality at all times and do not disclose any confidential Personal and/or Company information to any unauthorised person. Staffing and Training Supervise work performance and conduct of all staff on shift across all Store departments, ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures. In absence of the Store Management, ensure Store is open for business throughout the operational hours and assist planning staff rotas to achieve the requisite level of staff cover with adequate coverage for holidays and sickness. Assist the Store Manager as requested in staff training required to do their job. Be fully knowledgeable with all routine operational tasks performed by staff at the Store e.g. till operation, cash handling procedures etc. Manage staff performance through clear communication of expected standards and providing feedback on individual performance and progress as requested. Encourage teamwork to support the achievement of both Store and Business objectives/ targets. Develop positive relationships and good communication with colleagues and team members. Attend as requested all development /training courses /programmes General Be aware of and adhere to WineFlairs Policies and Procedures in relation to Harassment, Bullying, Equal Opportunities, Sickness, Absence and Holidays. Ensure all new /amended Policies & Procedures are implemented across the Store to maintain and improve all standards /objectives. Administration and Accounting Assist in completing and maintaining all relevant Store paperwork, records and accounts accurately and promptly for submission to WineFlair Head Office as specified. In the absence of Store Management as requested calculate and reconcile Wages Sheets, recording hours of employment accurately in line with Company procedures. In the absence of Store Management, to reconcile and complete all Cash Management procedures. In the absence of Store Management identify reasons for cash shortages with the staff concerned and take the necessary steps to prevent repetition through refresher training and if required escalate to Cash & Security Manager at Head Office. In the absence of Store Management, to complete and process all required Stock Ordering requirements, to maintain product stocks levels and demands. To assist as required with Stock Takes, Line Counts and all Stock Control measures. Availability To perform keyholding duties as and when required. To be flexible in availability to cover absenteeism and work extra hours if and when required. To be flexible as regards location of work and willing to assist in other WineFlair Stores as and when required. To support the Store Management Team in all aspects of their work and deputise in their absence. Any other duties relating to the position, as may be deemed necessary by the management.
