About the role:
You will be dealing with translation projects from initiation to delivery which means the success of each project is in your hands. We’re looking for someone to take ownership and manage complex multi-stage and multilingual projects ensuring they are delivered on time and in budget. A key part of the role will be supporting the project coordinators, guiding them in their handling of projects and sharing extensive knowledge of the industry. You should be well-versed in translation technologies including CAT tools, TMs, and MT.
Key Responsibilities:
* Planning, scheduling, and monitoring of complex, multi-stage, and multi-language translation projects ensuring the timely delivery of projects
* Sourcing and coordination of translators and other language professionals including negotiating timelines and prices
* Building and maintaining positive relationships with suppliers to ensure a good quality, stable supply chain
* Proofreading and QA-checking of translations
* Efficient verbal and written communication with clients, linguists, and colleagues to ensure customer satisfaction including answering incoming calls from clients and linguists in a professional and courteous manner
* Understand and adhere to individual client and project instructions
* Work effectively in a team environment
* Training, mentoring, and coaching new and junior team members on translation best practice
* Collaborate with multiple stakeholders across the organization
* Define and document processes based on client requirements in line with business goals
Experience, education, and skills
* Previous experience within the Translation industry
* Knowledge of a TMS
* Knowledge of CAT Tools
* Knowledge of Translation Memory
* Understanding of Machine Translation and AI for the language industry
* Meticulous attention to detail
* Excellent organization and prioritization skills
* Strong communication, both written and oral
* A commitment to delivering excellent customer service
* Ability to work under time pressure and meet deadlines in a team environment
* Have a solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving
* Ability to work independently and autonomously
* Excellent computer literacy including Outlook and MS Office, as well as the ability to learn new software
* Degree in a relevant field (e.g. Languages, Translation, Linguistics etc.)
* Knowledge of another language
