Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time on a 24/7 shift pattern What is the Role? As Shift Group Leader, you'll be accountable for leading, managing and developing the real time Operational 24/7 shift team in relation to Safety, Operations, and Performance of our Hydro Asset fleet from our central Hydro Operational Control (HOC) based in Perth Some of your main responsibilities will include: - Ensuring that plant is operated in accordance with all applicable Safety rules, systems, company practices and procedures while remaining compliant with statutory and regulatory requirements. - Taking the lead on emerging situations and acting or escalating appropriately to the risk. - Ensuring the delivery on key performance metrics and service targets for Shift, Monthly and Annual requirements. - Liaising with the wider field based operational teams to maintain an agile workforce that can be mobilised quickly to manage fluctuations in workload demand in an effective, efficient, and timely manner. - Working with other Hydro Operational Control support functions through the Operations Manager to ensure that there is seamless process control and positive outcomes as defined by organisational and functional objectives. What do I need? We'd love you to have: - An HND level qualification in an engineering or science discipline or equivalent industry experience from working in a Power Station or similar environment. - A background in a power generation or HV network environment, preferably with Hydro operational experience, including proficiency in SCADA control systems and Data Historian. - Knowledge of formal safety operations and procedures and understanding of regulatory obligations. - A good understanding of the energy market conditions affecting operations and the balancing mechanism. An understanding of weather forecasting, regional and local weather patterns and the effects would be an advantage. - Strong communication and engagement skills with the ability to motivate people and effectively manage and prioritise your own and the teams workload, whilst identifying problems and making recommendations to implement solutions.
