Milk Education is recruiting for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a mainstream primary school in Finsbury Park. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teaching assistant or graduate to take on a more senior role within a vibrant and supportive school environment. As an HLTA, you will work alongside class teachers to deliver high-quality education to children aged 4-11, with a focus on enhancing the learning experience for all pupils. You’ll be involved in planning and delivering lessons, providing targeted interventions, and supporting the development of a positive and inclusive classroom environment. You will have the opportunity to take on more responsibility within the classroom, working closely with the teacher and other staff to support both the academic and emotional well-being of the students. Key Responsibilities: Supporting the class teacher in planning, delivering, and assessing lessons. Leading small group interventions and providing tailored support to children with additional learning needs. Assisting with classroom management and maintaining a positive, structured learning environment. Delivering lessons in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring that students are engaged and supported. Providing feedback on pupil progress to the teacher and contributing to individual education plans (IEPs). Supporting students with their emotional and social development, promoting positive behaviour and self-regulation. Working closely with other staff and outside agencies to ensure students receive the support they need. What We’re Looking For: Experience as a Teaching Assistant, or a graduate with relevant experience working with children in an educational setting. A Level 4 Higher Level Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable. A strong understanding of the National Curriculum and experience supporting children with a range of abilities. Experience in delivering interventions and supporting students with additional learning needs is an advantage. A proactive, positive attitude and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. A genuine passion for education and helping children achieve their full potential.
