JOB DESCRIPTION
NOV WellSite Services is seeking a Field Support Engineer. You will be operating in the thermal team, with work experience in mechanical or hydraulic equipment and machinery. You should be able to troubleshoot and maintain and repair machinery.
As a Field Support Engineer in NOV, you will work within a dynamic team responsible for operating and maintaining our InovaTherm thermal cuttings treatment plant both on and offshore.
This role requires mechanical and hydraulic knowledge, as well as the ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Effective communication in English with the Thermal team and customers is essential, and you will be part of our team for Offshore Installations, servicing, and maintenance. This is primarily an offshore/overseas role with some additional work occasionally required in our Peterhead workshop facility.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Communicate effectively in English with the team Supervisor and crew.
2. Maintain equipment according to service schedules and make repairs as required during operations.
3. Assist the Supervisor in coordinating the daily operation of all equipment in line with operational guidelines.
4. Work to strict environmental guidelines and perform or assist during critical testing and analysis.
5. Perform maintenance and work to a schedule with the Inovatherm crew.
6. Provide your supervisor with verbal and written updates during working hours.
7. Perform additional tasks as assigned or required by business needs.
8. Maintain stock levels and ensure adequate stock and consumables are held at the worksite.
9. Participate in training where required and actively support a safety culture at the worksite.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Qualification in an Engineering/Mechanical related discipline or equivalent experience (Desirable).
2. Time Served in a relevant field (Desirable).
EXPERIENCE:
1. Experience working in an engineering or mechanical environment.
2. Experience working in the Oil and Gas industry.
3. Experience working on projects and within teams.
4. Understanding of mechanical drawings, schematics, and user manuals.
5. Background knowledge of overhaul, inspection, and/or repair of heavy machinery.
6. Produce work to a high standard of quality in accordance with NOV procedures and work instructions.
7. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
8. Good health and safety knowledge and understanding.
9. Project Management training/knowledge.
10. Document Control and understanding of Document Management Systems.
11. Background knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic controls.
