We would like to recruit a Maintenance Assistant on a full-time basis. This person will be required in the office every weekday and mainly based at our Baker Street offices, with occasional travel to our South Quay office. Some experience in maintenance is required, along with various tasks centered around maintenance duties. You should also be comfortable moving meeting room furniture and other items. Normal hours will be 9.30 am – 5.30 pm, but flexibility is required, and there may be a need for some weekend work.
The main duties are below:
Maintenance
* The monitoring and adjustment as necessary of the BMS – the system for managing the heating and cooling in the building.
* The daily sweep of the building ensuring all spent light bulbs are replaced as soon as possible and the stock is kept replenished at all times; ensuring consistent type and colour of bulb is used in each area.
* Dealing with all minor electrical and decoration tasks; installation tasks such as shelving.
* Purchasing of small items for maintenance tasks, key cutting, etc.
* Being proactive in dealing with any maintenance issues that you notice, are reported to you, or you are asked to action.
Health & Safety
* The weekly testing of the fire alarms at Baker Street.
* Assisting contractors (i.e., pest control, building surveys, water testing, etc.) allowing access to any secured areas as necessary.
Services
* Dealing with the setting and re-setting of meeting rooms in readiness for meetings, seminars, and events which may include the removal of tables and chairs, and dealing with event-related deliveries to the building such as drinks and ice.
* Dealing with the installation of new items of furniture (i.e., filing cabinets, tables, fridges, microwaves, etc.).
