Work type: Permanent, 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday. Hybrid working, 2-3 days in the office/working on sites, with Teams based across the Yorkshire Water regional area.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Contracted Maintenance Engineer to join the Asset Delivery Contracted Maintenance Team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you?

The Asset Delivery Contracted Maintenance Team works with the Engineering/Maintenance suppliers to ensure we drive best value and the correct technical solution through the supply chain. We aim to strengthen the collaboration and relationship between ourselves and our suppliers to ensure the timely and high-quality completion of the contracted maintenance tasks.
Where you fit in:
As a Contracted Maintenance Engineer you will:
* Oversee the contractor work basket, conducting regular reviews to identify and address issues. This will be done by utilising technical and commercial expertise to support contractors in overcoming challenges.
* Serve as a primary contact between contractors & YWS, actively engaging key framework providers, increasing asset availability, and reducing resolution times. Ensure good value by building collaborative relationships with Contractors and Key YWS personnel ensuring open communication channels.
* Act as the primary point of escalation for issues from both contractors and YWS. Resolve conflicts promptly to maintain project momentum and stakeholder satisfaction.
* Ensure the quality of work and adherence to defined scopes as specified by the work promoters. Conduct on-site engineering audits to validate work quality and compliance.
* Promote design improvements and innovation from suppliers through engineering channels within YWS, to support asset availability, reliability, and resilience.
* Participate in framework tenders, providing technical and commercial support. Promote positive changes based on lessons learned during previous framework periods.
What skills & qualifications you will need:
* Any two Qualifications within a matching or multi-disciplined Apprenticeship
o NVQ Levels 1-3 in a MEICA discipline
o City & Guilds Levels 1-3 in a MEICA discipline
o BTech National Diploma in a MEICA discipline
o ONC/HNC in a MEICA discipline
* Thorough understanding of MEICA work scopes and the delivery of such work.
* Knowledge of engineering in wastewater/clean water environments or other similar industrial applications.
* Analytical skills for data evaluation, manipulation, and presentation.
* Experience in asset root cause failure analysis within engineering.
* Background in engineering maintenance (Electrical, Mechanical, ICA, or multi-skilled).
* Ability to work autonomously and communicate effectively.
* Financial and commercial understanding within an engineering maintenance function.
* Experience in relationship management and conflict resolution.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and asset/process-based IT systems like SAP.
* Valid driving licence and flexibility to travel across Yorkshire.
* Experience in supporting and embedding change, influencing culture and behaviours.
You will also benefit from having:
* Project management qualifications and/or experience
* Experience in managing the delivery of complex engineering maintenance programmes.
* Previous role(s) with a likeness to the role purpose and covering similar key accountabilities within a utility or industrial sector with a similar asset inventory.
* Technical and/or Vendor contract management experience.
* Experience scoping engineering work alongside pricing/estimating in an industrial environment.
* Competent in the use of SAP, AI2, Mindjet Mind map, EDMS, Microsoft Project.
* IOSH Managing Safely or similar.
* Any specialisation in Water Industry asset base.
* Experience of delivering against challenging business targets.
