This flexible role is all about relief hours, meaning you'll be working as needed on shifts scheduled Monday to Friday no two days are ever the same! You’ll have the chance to create real change by supporting learners to build confidence, independence, and life skills in a fun, inclusive, and welcoming environment. We’re all about respecting your time any changes to your schedule are discussed in advance, and occasional staff meetings or training sessions are a chance for you to grow, not a burden.
Your Day-to-Day:
* Bring your best Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies to encourage positive behaviour.
* Capture and document the progress of our learners with photos, videos, and reports and celebrate their success!
* Lend a helping hand with personal care and medication when needed.
* Team up with a Community Teaching Facilitator (CTF) to manage budgets, communicate with families, and attend exciting training sessions.

A UK Manual/Automatic driving licence is preferred. MacIntyre offer paid travel time for additional commuting.

What we need from you:
Perhaps you’ve worked in special education, as a Learning Support Assistant or Teaching Assistant. Perhaps you've been a Support Worker in the social care sector. However, experience is not essential. For us, underlying ability and attitude are just as important as background and experience.
If you have not worked in the field of education before then please don’t be put off. We can provide all of the specialist training you need, but we can't train you to be kind, to have initiative, to be friendly and patient; and those are essential qualities for this work.
GCSEs (or equivalent) minimum C grade in English and Mathematics are a requirement for the role.
Training and Development:
At Macintyre we fully support your training and development. We know it can be daunting to start a new job, and not everyone learns the same way, so throughout your probation we will provide you with a mixture of eLearning, face-to-face training and mentoring support whilst on the job.
