Why not join as our new band 5 Speech & Language Therapists (also suitable for anyone who is qualifying this academic year)? It is an ideal job for anyone who is looking to start their career in adult education. You will be working with young adults who have speech, language, and communication needs associated with their neurodevelopmental diagnosis and/or mental health problems.
The role is with Landmarks Specialist College (with sites in South Yorkshire & Nottingham City). The college focuses on life skills, vocational development, and employability. It is an opportunity to enable young adults to reach their potential as they transition to adulthood.
Your role is to support learners’ individual speech language and communication needs with a focus on ensuring the learners thrive within the college environment. Our focus is ‘functional communication’ and supporting the different college sites to be communication inclusive.
You will also be a part of the highly respected, passionate and quality-focused Speech and Language Therapy Service for IDD and Mental Health in Nottinghamshire - who work across Youth Justice, CAMHS, IDD, Autism services, and Forensic services. You will be well supported and supervised by a Highly Specialist SLT, with many opportunities for peer support. You will enjoy close links with our wider team and our SLT colleagues within the East Midlands, and benefit from excellent levels of support, supervision, and CPD opportunities.
Learners attend Landmarks Specialist College to develop their independence skills and employability. Your role is to support the individual and the college in this process by addressing communication needs for both the individual and the college.
The Landmarks therapeutic multidisciplinary team works in an integrated manner (alongside the learners, teaching and support staff, families/carers, and external agencies) to implement positive outcomes in a functional manner.
You will be contributing to individual Speech and Language Therapy assessments and interventions, training, and consultancy. You will be working with a fixed caseload of learners, with clear targets for the individual and their environment.
