Key Duties and Responsibilities include: Test and qualify raw materials for use on site and optimise recipe yields. Ensure all lab and monitoring equipment is maintained and calibrated Prepare any chemical reagent standards necessary for in-process and finals testing Ensure all necessary environmental testing and monitoring is conducted in line with the site’s permit requirements Monitor and review the results of the quality assurance/control program, analyse laboratory data, and recommend modifications Develop new methods and techniques of analysis, in-house and by liaising with HQ overseas, to continuously modernise and drive improvements on site. Maintain accurate and thorough records of lab procedures and results, ensure compliance with government regulations Troubleshoot process chemistry issues in collaboration with production. Develop and deliver quality related training material to site personnel Effectively communicate on product quality and process optimisation to all relevant interested parties. Responding to product quality issues and any resulting customer complaints in line with quality management system, ensuring all quality issues are recorded and the appropriate internal/external communication is documented. Perform any related duties as required Skills and Knowledge: Equivalent to Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in chemistry or related field Comprehensive knowledge of laboratory techniques, equipment, terminology, and procedures Proficient in use of HPLC for analytical work Mathematical calculations used in chemical analyses Awareness of proper sample collection procedures and techniques Analyse and interpret test results Prepare clear, concise, and technical reports Proficient IT skills and competent with Microsoft package Knowledge/experience of Microsoft Excel Personal Competencies: Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written Ability to work effectively and safely under pressure and time constraints Strong planning capability Ability to work autonomously and on own initiative Establish and maintain effective working relationships Naturally inquisitive with ability to problem solve Strong diagnostic skills and decision-making abilities Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience conducting a variety of tests in a physical or chemical laboratory
