We are looking for a compassionate, enthusiastic and innovative Principal (Clinical / Counselling / Forensic) Psychologist to work closely with a very supportive MDT in mental health services for Children in Care and Care Leavers (0-25 years) in Birmingham.
A vacancy at Birmingham Women's and Children's Hospital. You will be bringing your specialist psychological expertise, leadership skills and strategic development to an MDT that already includes psychology, nursing and occupational therapy.
This role offers flexibility and hybrid working across the working week of 30 hours. We want to help you build your career as a Psychologist, enhancing your leadership skills, clinical and research skills. You will be reporting to the Children in Care Lead, Consultant Clinical Psychologist, and acting as their deputy while supporting members of the team. The day to day will involve providing consultancy, leadership, strategic development, building relationships with professional networks and internal colleagues in Forward Thinking Birmingham....and so much more!
Main duties of the job
You will support the development and delivery of the Children in Care (CiC) and Care Leavers pathway, working with multi-agency partners, across Birmingham.
You will support FTB colleagues to develop psychological formulations and plan interventions that consider the impact of early trauma, ongoing relational difficulties and support towards recovery. You will work with multi-agency colleagues through consultations, training and collaboration. You will liaise with FTB colleagues, CiC Nurses, Social Workers, Education, Residential Care and Foster Carers, working together to address the complex needs for CiC and Care Leavers, particularly around risk and mental health. You will supervise/line manage staff. You will be involved with service planning & development, demonstrating leadership skills and contributing to service evaluations. Holding the bigger picture, vision and values for the team in mind as the essential thread.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Experienced Qualified Clinical/Counselling/Forensic Psychologist eligible for chartered status
* HCPC registered with Doctorate in Clinical/Counselling/Forensic Psychology
* Post qualification training leading to highly developed specialist knowledge of issues relevant to core and specialist clinical populations e.g DBT, SCM, ADOS, CBT, ADI-R, and organisational change
Knowledge and experience
* Significant experience of providing clinical supervision and consultation, with psychologists and other professional groups
