Consultant in Critical Care and Anaesthesia
Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
This is a substantive post for a Consultant in Critical Care and Anaesthesia. It is a full-time post to cover sessions made available as a result of job plan changes in the department.
It is based around a 1:8 on call in Critical Care and a 10PA contract. The position would support dual CCT in critical care. The department will only consider those with CCTs or equivalence in Critical Care and Anaesthesia. Sessions will be decided upon consultation with the clinical lead and speciality director, but initially, approximately 2/3 of job planned sessions will be in Critical Care.
The post could be filled on a whole or part-time basis. Any candidate who is unable, for personal reasons, to work full time will still be considered for the post. If such a person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis. Job share applicants are also welcome.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will join the existing team of approximately 18 Critical Care consultants working for the trust in the two main sites of Gloucester and Cheltenham. In addition, there are approximately 45 general anaesthetic consultants working in both central sites and peripheral community hospitals.
