Detailed job description and main responsibilities
1. Provide leadership and act as a role model for the staff of LHS Ltd.
2. Manage stock appropriately and accurately.
3. Ensure SOPs are in place to cover all activities.
4. Implement robust recruitment processes including induction programmes and probationary reviews.
5. Develop training packages to cover all core activities and ensure that all team members are trained to the appropriate standards.
6. Handle pharmacy stock safely and securely.
7. Develop and operate the pharmacy as a profitable business, tailoring staffing and services as appropriate.
8. Work closely with the Finance Manager to maintain full financial oversight.
9. Manage pharmacy rosters in line with budgeted costs.
10. Ensure effective leadership and management of the dispensary teams including:
1. Regular team meetings with minutes circulated.
2. Promptly enacting and following all policies and procedures, ensuring standards are upheld.
3. Effectively communicating with team members, including addressing sensitive topics.
4. Treating individuals equitably, fairly and consistently at all times.
5. Compliance with LTHTr mandatory training requirements.
6. Conduct quarterly 121s and annual appraisals for all team members.
11. Manage workload and resources effectively across all three branches.
12. Lead or support team leaders on service development.
13. Investigate incidents reported by Datix or through PALs and develop appropriate action plans.
14. Ensure all relevant risk assessments are in place and reviewed regularly.
15. Maintain the LHS Single Improvement Plan and progress actions as necessary.
16. Prepare corporate and annual business plans in conjunction with the Finance Manager and monitor progress.
17. Provide strategic advice and guidance to the chair and board members regarding industry developments.
18. Establish and maintain effective links with key decision-makers and stakeholders.
19. Coordinate the work and resources of the dispensary teams, ensuring robust recruitment and retention processes.
20. Represent the company in negotiations with customers, suppliers, and key contacts.

Qualifications & Education
Essential criteria
* Qualified Pharmacist or Pharmacy Technician
* Registration with GPhC and evidence of CPD
Desirable criteria
* Post-graduate Leadership and Management Qualification
* RPS/APTUK Member
Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
* Knowledge of all areas of Pharmacy Services
* Detailed knowledge of Pharmacy Dispensing Services
* Experience in a management/leadership role
* Specialist knowledge of Good Dispensing Practice
* Experience of workforce development
* Knowledge of medicines regulation, legislation, and clinical governance
* Ability to develop and deliver training
* Awareness of changes within pharmacy practice
* Knowledge of COSHH regulations
* Knowledge of information security and confidentiality laws
* Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and Risk Management processes.
