You’ll be fearless in your approach to improve things and this will come across in your work As a Systems Administrator / Developer, a typical day might include: Supporting, administrating and developing Acis Group’s core business systems and their operating platforms, primarily but not exclusively housing management (people and property), asset management and repairs & maintenance contract management systems, ensuring that all are accurate, patched and up to date and hold all relevant information. Managing and maintaining security levels within information systems by ensuring access of appropriate information to relevant users in accordance with the requirements of the business. Maintaining system statutory and regulatory requirements ensuring Acis Group is compliant with its responsibilities and GPDR/data protection regulations. Managing the regular interfacing and exchange of data between core systems and modules, ensuring that it is accurate to enable appropriate management of Acis Group’s resources, and development of these (including web module improvement) to streamline and improve business processes. Monitoring systems integration and perform the testing of business / web systems / applications, identifying any technical problems from back end system to full front end user support. Ensuring that all system users are kept up to date with relevant information and are made aware of any relevant changes, providing training and support as required. Liaising with providers/partners on all matters relating to the above systems including development improvements and the correction of any problems. Ensuring that all software releases received from suppliers are thoroughly tested prior to being loaded onto the live systems, by managing comprehensive test plans and technical documentation to ensure the co-ordinated user acceptance testing by the appropriate operational staff. Providing and sharing expertise within the IT Services team, ensuring a shared knowledge and understanding of systems support. Some of the experience/skills we need to consider you: Educated to degree level or have equivalent relevant work experience with a suitable qualification in an IT related field. Substantial knowledge and experience of business systems / database and web technologies, how these work together and how they support the business, (managing / developing / analysis / administration and reporting). Experienced in creating technical and process documentation and in training non-technical staff. Demonstrable practical experience of at least some of the following: Data Manipulation, Batch Processing SQL, Oracle and Progress Database Administration Web, SQL, HTML Housing Management and/or large database systems management MS Windows Server suites MS Active Directory and LDAP integration MS Excel and 365 office suite, MS windows desktop OS Have an agile mind set, Acis is ever changing, and you’ll need to help deliver this. Detailed technical knowledge of SQL, Progress and Server operating systems / Active Directory / web technologies. Excellent understanding of GDPR and cyber security. An understanding of user interface / interaction design as applicable to enterprise software and web-based applications Understanding of SharePoint management /administration. Evidence of continuing professional development. The ability to motivate staff and colleagues. An organised individual who is comfortable with working flexibly in a busy environment.
