We have a fantastic opportunity for a Head of Digital Engineering to join our team! This is a great job for someone with an engineering mindset to join our team in the UK. A bit about the job:
Within the role you will be accountable for leading the engineering across mobile, portals (B2B/B2C), and digital innovation (DevOps & Tooling). This role covers Application Development, Maintenance (AD&M) teams, and functions supporting Aviva’s Platforms across our businesses. The role is critical to leading a world-class digital capability at the heart of our customer experience and digital transformation objectives, covering a range of technologies and techniques.
Being responsible for engineering across internal development teams, engineering partner and third-party software providers: To be the point of contact for any problems within software engineering and help software engineers tackle complex challenges. Driving innovation through examples and creating a safe environment to encourage the team to test and learn by producing easy to use prototypes and MVPs. Help the team and wider organisation understand engineering, the sophisticated technical challenges and technical decisions.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
* Previous experience of designing and implementing digital experiences
* Significant full stack development experience, ideally with experience in Angular, React front-end CSS framework and Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)
* An entrepreneurial drive, with the ability to deconstruct and solve problems, to investigate drivers and figure out why things happen
* Strong leadership and team management with the ability to foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
* Strategic planning and execution skills
What you’ll get for this role:
* National salary circa £90,000 - £120,000 and London salary circa £100,000 - £160,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
* Bonus opportunity – 25% of annual salary Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.
