Resident Engineer (m/f)
Ensure operational support, planned and unplanned maintenance, and associated administration activities at Power Stations with a LTSA contract with Ansaldo Energia in the UK.
Your accountabilities
Accountable for operational support, planned and unplanned maintenance, and associated administration activities at the Power Station where a LTSA contract exists • Pro-actively support the Customer in the operation, maintenance and repair of the Power Station in accordance with the terms of the Contract • Provide direct technical guidance and support to the Customer’s staff on relevant operational and maintenance matters • Assist the customer in improvement of relevant operations and maintenance procedures • Analyse incident reports and suggest necessary actions • Analyse operational data relating to any contractual guarantees and obligations and, if necessary, recommend corrective actions • Advise and assist the Customer in planning and executing relevant maintenance activities and co-ordinate with the Owner/Operator and Ansaldo Energia for the preparation and planning of planned and unplanned inspection activities • Identify initial spare parts, control Ansaldo Energia’s buffer stock and maintain the required stock availability • Help the customer in selecting tools and equipment required for maintenance • During planned or unplanned inspections, co-ordinate between the Customer, Ansaldo and suppliers, and ensure that the Customer is aware of all modifications and related technical matters • Ensure that Ansaldo’s suppliers of services comply with all applicable Environmental, Health & Safety requirements • Comply with customer as well as Ansaldo Energia and legislative EHS requirements relevant to assigned duties and responsibilities.
Requirements
Your profile
Electrical or Mechanical Engineering MSc / BSc degree or equivalent work experience. Alternatively, candidates without academic qualification but extensive mechanical experience would also be considered • Substantial knowledge of engineering practices, functions and processes involved in the operation and maintenance of a Power Station • Knowledge of the type of Power Station concerned • Knowledge of typical legislation associated with Power Station operation and maintenance • Three years’ experience in commissioning, operation or maintenance of Power Stations or equivalent facilities, two of which in GT/combined cycle plants associated with either plant control or thermal block • International experience • Able to reach satisfactorily negotiated solutions • Good organisational skills • Achievement and goal oriented • Open to feedback, able to handle conflicts • Trustworthy, reliable • Communicative and flexible team player with intercultural competences • UK resident or holder of a valid work permit • Able to travel frequently (20% of the time), mainly within the UK • English mother tongue, command of Italian would be of advantage.
