Payroll Specialist/Administrator
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Professional to oversee, administrate and manage our payroll operations using Xero. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and provide exceptional service to our employees. This role will be offered part time 16 -24 hours per week
Alternatively we could consider a payroll administrator interested in learning the full payroll function and studying relevant qualification

Key Responsibilities:
Collate timesheets for both divisions, numbers can range from 30-100 dependant on seasonal fluctuations
Manage the end-to-end payroll process for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Utilize Xero to process payroll, including setting up new employees, processing terminations, and managing payroll changes.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
Prepare and submit payroll reports and filings, including deductions of earnings, SSP requests, tax filings and year-end reporting.
Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies.
Collaborate with hospitality and engineering departments to ensure seamless payroll operations.
Maintain and update payroll records, including employee information, deductions, and benefits.
Provide support to employees on payroll-related inquiries and issues.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance payroll efficiency.
Stay updated on payroll best practices and legislative changes
All administration related to payroll processing
Invoicing weekly hours to clients via Xero adhering to agreed payment terms
Qualifications:
Formal Qualification in Accounting, Payroll or Finance related field.
Extensive experience in payroll management.
Proficiency in using Xero for payroll processing.
Strong knowledge of payroll laws and regulations.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
Experience with payroll software and systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in Payroll (e.g., CPP, FPC).
Experience in a similar industry or company size.
