Fixed term until 30 th April 2027 Full time (35 hours per week) The opportunity: To contribute to the management and publishing of work funded by the European Innovation Council grant iADs relating to the use of gene therapy in cardiovascular disease. This will involve developing the concept of cardiac gene therapy but using recombinant adenoviruses that have been carefully designed as a driver for delivery. This will utilise key facets of virology, delivery and creation of viral genomes containing therapeutic genes/non-coding RNA that can have effects on more than one function in the heart post-injury and to assess gene delivery efficacy using a range of techniques in vitro and in animal models. Due to funding the role is fixed term until 30th April 2027. This role is full time (35 hours per week) and the salary is UE07 £40,247 to £47,874 per annum. Your skills and attributes for success: Appropriate degree, with relevant post-graduate research experience and accumulated knowledge A PhD or equivalent professional qualification and/or experience in the field of cardiovascular biology/therapy or gene therapy. Ability to communicate complex information clearly, orally and in writing and with appropriate IT and interpersonal skills · Experience in relevant approaches and models, analytical techniques and methods (includes practical lab work, data manipulations and subsequent dissemination of research in form of publication), particularly understanding mechanisms of ncRNA function. £40,247 to £47,874 per annum (Grade 7)
