Senior Application Support Engineer Based: Stoke on Trent, ST1 5SH Up to £43,000 per annum An experienced, customer centric and forward thinking Senior Application Support Engineer is required to join our busy Solution Delivery Team, this is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team, who are customer focused and strive to focus on continuous improvement, with a forward thinking approach to incorporate the latest technologies, where possible to support the work we do. Your role will be focused on end users, including back-office teams, our site operational teams and Novus clients, in the use of our systems and applications. Whilst also supporting the business from a technical expertise, on projects across the business including new mobilization, implementation and upgrades. Working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, typically 8.30-5.00pm but flexibility is offered around start and finish times providing that core business hours are covered. An outline of your responsibilities as a Senior Application Support Engineer • Act as the principal contact in the initial troubleshooting of all IT application problems, resolving where possible, escalating or referring where not. • Lead on projects or be technical lead on any new projects where necessary and requested • Manage 3rd party relationships with system suppliers. • Ensuring the company’s cloud and on-premise IT systems are available and up to date • Operate constant maintenance programmes to help reduce failures in software; ensure appropriate “housekeeping” tasks are followed • Evaluate user and system needs, delivering training where appropriate including inducting new staff onto IT systems • Maintain project documentation • Schedule and implement upgrades of software systems as and when appropriate • Liaise with external suppliers and supporting agents to properly resolve issues and enhance all Novus systems • Maintain stakeholder relationships, working with a variety of people across the business to define requirements and set plans for solutions • Ensure all processes/workflows are being followed to ensure best practice. • Mentor and be active in encouraging the team to expand their knowledge through training opportunities • Document and maintain a sufficient problem management solution database • Promote new technology within the business to improve efficiency and new ways of working • Work alongside the IT Operations Manager to improve overall process/workflow automation About you You will have previous experience as a Senior Application Support Engineer or an end users support role. You will be acting as a Senior support to our colleagues in using our internal systems, in order to succeed, ideally you will come with a wealth of experience in managing internal platforms.
