Claims Handler, Insurance, Hove, 20-25 hrs/week, £32k FTE This fast growing insurance provider is looking for an experienced Claims Handler. The Role Discuss new claim enquiries from clients, determine whether cover is in place and report to insurers on client behalf or advising them how to make a claim Handle existing claims for clients from start to finish Ensure the in house software system is kept updated with all relevant information and the current claims situation at any given moment Respond to general claims queries from clients and insurers Provide excellent customer service to clients, regular updates and obtain satisfactory feedback surveys on this basis Negotiate with insurers, loss adjusters, and other third parties to deliver the best outcome for our clients Develop relationships with insurers and relevant third parties Report large losses to the team manager and follow the agreed large loss process Assist the Claims Manager to collate and produce claims reports and statistics when required Liaise with internal account handlers and executives to gain in-depth understanding of clients, where necessary liaise with internal risk control team to help assist clients with risk management connected to claims and near misses. Liaise with the marketing team to promote the claims service The Candidate Previous claims experience essential, ideally in the insurance sector. It is preferable that you are working towards or prepared to study for CII exams. Proven experience in managing relationships with customers, insurers and key stakeholders. Active and working knowledge of FCA compliance preferable. Articulate and presentable with the ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written. Able to work co-operatively with other team members. Ability to work under pressure. Capable of working on own initiative and managing own workload effectively Competent with Microsoft office suite, word, excel, outlook and databases. Salary and benefits £32k per annum for full time hours (pro-rated down depending on hours agreed). Part time 20-25 hours per week working across 4 or 5 days. Ideally 9:30-2:30pm (or similar). Tuesday is a must due to company meetings. Please note, this will be an office based position (Hove) for the first 12 months. After this, successful candidates may be able to work from home for part of the week (office based days are Tue/Wed/Thu). 28 days (inclusive of Bank Holidays) per year Rising to 33 days (inclusive of Bank Holidays) after two years service.
