We’re delighted to be supporting a leading Commercial and Corporate Property and Facilities Management Consultancy. Our client is currently seeking to recruit a Senior Costs Manager to support their team in their new Nottingham offices. It is essential that this candidate holds relevant chartership qualifications either within Quantity Surveying or Facilities Management. Candidates do not have to travel to Nottingham on a daily basis, so candidates from the wider Midlands are welcome to apply. There are opportunities for individuals from 16 hours per week up to 37.5 hours making this an incredibly flexible opportunity for someone who may be looking to improve their work/life balance!
Responsibilities:
1. Evaluate and challenge technical diagnoses, material specifications, and scopes of work to ensure accurate and cost-effective solutions are implemented.
2. Collaborate with contractors and operational teams to ensure repairs and maintenance are completed timely, appropriately, and to a high standard.
3. Conduct site visits to assess the extent of services required and provide detailed recommendations for project execution.
4. Prepare, manage, and monitor budgets, ensuring financial oversight and cost control for all assigned projects.
5. Provide expert advice on quantity surveying or facilities management matters, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
Skills & Experience:
1. Chartership qualification or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or Facilities Management essential.
2. Proven experience in cost management within the property, construction, or facilities management sectors.
3. Strong analytical skills with the ability to challenge technical details and identify cost-saving opportunities.
4. Excellent communication and negotiation skills for effective collaboration with contractors, clients, and operational teams.
5. Proficient in conducting site assessments and preparing detailed reports to inform decision-making processes.
The successful candidate must be able to pass a BPSS check meaning it is essential to have 5 years of continuous UK address history.
