About The Service The role of the Residential Support Worker Nights at the LoomWalk service in Kilbarchan, you’ll be to provide a positive and stimulating short break experience for children with disabilities. Your role as a night duty worker will be to support children to be settled overnight and feel safe and secure when they stay. Our service accommodates up to six children at a time and offers a range of activities and experiences, such as sensory stimuli, access to community leisure pursuits, and a garden area for engaging activities. The focus will be on ensuring high-quality care and support in a safe and caring environment, where children can have fun. At the heart of our mission is a commitment to recognising and responding to the unique needs of each child who walks through our doors. Our dedicated team of trained staff, are equipped with the skills and empathy needed to create a nurturing atmosphere where children can create a ‘home from home'. How You'll Help To Create Brighter Futures Some key responsibilities of the Residential Support Worker roles are; Providing lead case/care planning management, including assessing, reviewing and managing risk. Co-ordinating responsibilities within the service, with multi agency and producing family information, including analysis and written reports. Supporting with medical needs or support during the night if needed for the young person. Providing a safe environment for them to enjoy time with their friends. Giving families the break they need to continue supporting their children. Assisting the children in all aspects of their care and supporting their health and wellbeing. Let's Talk About You Are you resilient and have a positive approach to change and challenge? We're looking for someone with a ‘can do' attitude to join our team. Ideally you'll have: Commitment to working on a waking night shift rota pattern, which includes evenings, weekends and some bank holidays. Safeguarding knowledge. Demonstrate emotional resilience to respond to the challenging nature of the role. Possess a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or recognised equivalent) or if you do not possess this you must be prepared to complete this within 2 years of commencing employment with us, full support will be provided.
