Our client, operating in the Marine sector, is currently seeking a skilled Designer (Electrical) to join their Electrical and Electronic Engineering team. This team is responsible for all aspects of electrical and electronic equipment onboard various vessels, including communications, navigation, and control equipment. You will collaborate closely with other engineering colleagues, production, procurement, maintenance, and operations teams to support the existing fleet, new construction projects, and develop new equipment in line with departmental priorities, as well as to support obsolescence. Your commitment to producing and evaluating innovative, practical, and cost-effective engineering and design solutions will be essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with design and development work, including configuration change control of technical documentation to maintain the through life product configuration of all assets and their associated equipment.
Ensure that the design of plant, equipment, and procedures are developed in accordance with EAM Processes and Standards.
Work within the EAM delivery and project cells, collaborating with Cell Leads and project managers to complete work within agreed timescales and processes.
Act as a designated engineering signatory in accordance with the EAM delegated authority.
Provide technical support to coastal staff and volunteers.
Undertake technical investigations, troubleshooting, trials, and data analysis at boatyards, contractor's premises, and onboard plant.
Engage in other ad hoc tasks and projects as required.
Job Requirements:
You will need to be an output-focused individual with a dynamic approach who is looking to develop your career in an exciting engineering environment. The key requirements for this role include:
An engineering qualification equivalent to the England, Wales, and Northern Ireland qualification level 5, or level 3 or 4 with proven additional experience.
A dynamic and motivated individual with a positive attitude; a team player who can collaborate and perform under pressure.
A proven ability to develop novel strategies to overcome issues and innovate to improve operational delivery.
Good communication skills, both written and presentational.
Excellent team working, organisation, communication, and attention to detail.
