In addition to refining and the streamlining of financial processes, the Financial Controller will work closely with the Senior Management Team in order to identify areas of risk, cost reduction and to bring full visibility to all areas of the business, documenting the wider business processes and business partnering will all departmental heads across the organisation. Role Purpose: The Financial Controller/Finance Manager will be responsible for managing the company's financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance activities. You will lead a small finance function and work closely with senior management to drive financial strategy and improve operational efficiency. Financial Controller/Company Accountant Responsibilities • Reporting to the Managing Director, responsible for 1 member of staff • Preparing and publishing all monthly management accounts. • Creating reports (annual and monthly) which identifies results, trends and forecasts. • Assist with the preparation of budget and financial forecasting and reporting any variances. • Managing all day to day accounting operations – including Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger and Counsel and Revenue Recognition. • Weekly Cashflow forecasting. • Documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain internal controls. • Ensuring all transactions are recorded, filed and reported properly. • Monthly journals including prepayments, accruals, weekly & monthly payroll production, balance sheet reconciliations • Liaison with Auditors and Tax Accountants, assisting with the Statutory accounts preparation. • Assisting with Fleet related tasks, including insurance, repairs, leasing queries. • VAT & CIS returns. • Support the business with the financial strategy and decision making process • Preparation of reports to board members, senior executives, and stakeholders. Key requirements: • CIMA, ACCA, ACA, qualified, or equivalent • Previous experience of implementing robust financial control and documenting processes in an SME business • Previous experience within a Service or project based environment beneficial not essential • Strong Management Accounting background • Must be confident in presenting financial information to non-financial stakeholders • Must have strong communication skills and advanced Excel skillset This really is an amazing opportunity for a finance professional that seeks a “work life balance” within a business that offers a relaxed and friendly working environment.
