Chronos Energy has partnered with a leading independent developer of green, city-centre heat networks to recruit a Business Development Manager. Our client only invest in sustainable infrastructure, and has extensive experience setting up district heating and other renewables businesses across Europe.
The Role
Support the clients growing portfolio of projects across the UK working for the frontline sales team. The Business Development Manager will engage with prospective customers directly and support them to connect to our networks across the UK. We want someone who is passionate about the mission, excited by ambitious growth targets, and dedicated to bringing the outstanding benefits of our offer to the customers. As a rapidly growing team, we need someone with a start-up or entrepreneurial mindset, who can adjust to change and keep up with a fast-moving business.
Role profile
Engage with customers about the carbon and cost-saving benefits of connecting to heat networks
Develop the end-to-end sales pipeline–taking customers from lead through to contract negotiation and agreement in line with (or exceeding) targets
Support the Sales Director in identifying, mapping, and qualifying new leads
Build strong relationships both with customers and key stakeholders
Look for opportunities to improve the sales process and our offer to customers, as well as the brand and marketing materials
Support commercial negotiations and contract management as required
Skills/Experience required
Either previous B2B sales experience or a strong interest in promoting district heat networks, sustainability, and/or the energy industry
Either familiarity with district heating networks and their components or a willingness to develop a working knowledge of these technologies and the sector in general
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and experience making presentations and drafting customer offers / recommendations
Experience using Hubspot CRM software would be ideal (though not essential)
Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, and experience of nurturing excellent relationships with prospects using a consultative onboarding approach
