Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Maintenance Engineer or a highly skilled Maintenance Engineer prepared to lead an area maintenance team and drive continuous performance improvements at our Grangemouth facility. Candidates should have chemical processing experience to ensure maintenance activities meet business objectives, optimize costs, and uphold HSE standards.
1. Provide leadership and technical support to maintenance teams and operations to maximize plant availability.
2. Define and implement an HSE engineering improvement program for the area.
3. Develop and execute strategic maintenance and sustenance plans.
4. Manage maintenance costs within budget and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
5. Enhance the capabilities of the maintenance team to meet future industry and business needs.
Qualifications
1. Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Control preferred).
2. Professional engineering qualification with extensive knowledge of maintenance and best practices in chemical processing.
3. Proficiency with CMMS, preferably SAP PM.
4. Strong leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
5. Experience managing contractors and stakeholder influence.
6. Experience as Duty Holder related to legislative management of change assessments.
7. Ability to apply engineering principles practically.
8. Familiarity with continuous improvement and lean manufacturing methodologies.

Syngenta's Grangemouth Manufacturing Centre, founded in 1919, is one of our two UK sites, employing nearly 400 skilled staff across manufacturing, engineering, scientific, and support roles. Our goal is to operate safely, reliably, and cost-effectively, helping growers protect crops and increase yields.
The site includes four active ingredient manufacturing plants and a finished product formulation and packaging plant, with the latest facility opening in May 2010.
