Essential
· Good understanding of ISO 9001
· Previous experience of working in a manufacturing / Inspection environment
· Knowledge of quality control, assurance principles, quality improvement tools, metrology and inspection techniques and associated documentation.
· Sound understanding of engineering drawings
· Fully conversant in Microsoft Office Applications
Desirable
· ONC/HNC or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline
· MPI & UT qualifications/experience would be advantageous
· Welding experience and associated testing/inspection requirements
· Evidence of working with material handling projects
· Experience of working on projects for the Nuclear Industry and MOD
Job Responsibilities
· Engage in product inspection and quality improvement activities
· Development of inspection processes
· Perform audit and inspection of sub-contract manufactured items
· Quality control, inspection, test and verification of components and assemblies
· Provide Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) support to the manufacturing department
· Monitor system, process and product performance and make recommendations for improvements
· Use of inspection and test equipment;
o physical inspection
o visual inspection methods
o non-destructive techniques
· Liaise with production departments to ensure consistent product quality
· Liaise with stakeholders and suppliers regarding quality related matters
· Maintenance of quality data for the company and defect analysis
· Conducting quality investigations and audits
· Review and update of quality procedures/instructions and Quality Control plans
· Produce and complete first article, in-process and final inspection reports
· Ensure that responsibilities regarding the company’s Environment, Health, Safety and Quality Standards are met and understood
