As the Head of Transport and Logistics for this prominent non-profit food organisation you will report into the Director of Operations.
This pivotal new role will play a central part in shaping and delivering an innovative logistics strategy to support rapid growth and to ensure the efficient and safe transportation of food across the organisation.

The Head of Transport and Logistics role will suit an experienced professional from the logistics and transport sector with expertise in food distribution who wants to join a progressive non-profit. The role is hybrid working with touch points across UK wide, with a leaning towards either London or Yorkshire locations.
As the business continues to scale, this role is key to optimising the transport operations—streamlining processes, leveraging data-driven insights, and implementing innovative solutions to deliver food in a timely and cost-effective manner.
You’ll lead relationships with leading transport and logistics providers and work closely with the haulage industry to align national and local transport solutions. This role demands an analytical mindset, a proven track record of driving efficiency, and the ability to identify new opportunities for collaboration and growth.
The ideal candidate will have:
* Experience working within supply chain and logistics in food distribution where you have managed 3PL contracts.
* Extensive leadership experience in a senior logistics role, strategic planning and execution experience, in a logistics setting.
* Track record of implementing process improvements and innovative solutions
* Strong understanding of budgeting, financial planning and cost optimisation
* Experience managing transport budgets of £5m+
* Familiarity with relevant laws, including health and safety, environmental and transport regulations
