Come and join our dynamic Older Adult Community Mental Health Team! We are looking for dedicated individuals who are committed to transforming community mental health services for our aging population. You will be working alongside a well established MDT.
CWP are seeking two Consultant Psychiatrists to join our team that will replace the existing consultants. The post holder will cover the Crewe patch. The post is also aligned to a thriving network of Care Community groups that support each other to tackle health inequalities, pool collective knowledge and services whilst also streamlining access to our respective areas. While responsible for delivering a quality clinical service, the Consultant Psychiatrist will also be involved in the strategic development of the team and broader services, liaising with the team and locality manager in helping to steer the development of the service in line with the strategic direction of the organisation. There is one core trainee attached to this post and the post holder will be able to shape their development through the facilitation of clinical supervision to the trainee.
There would be adequate secretarial support for the post holder. 11 PAs will be allocated to this post, split into direct clinical care (1 for flexibility and on-call) and for supporting activities.
Main duties of the job
1. To manage, appraise and give professional supervision to junior medical staff as agreed between consultant colleagues and the medical director and in accordance with the Trust's personnel policies and procedures. This may include assessing competences under the Modernising Medical Careers framework.
2. To ensure that junior medical staff working with the post holder operate within the parameters of the New Deal and are Working Time Directive compliant.
3. To undertake the administrative duties associated with the care of patients.
4. To record clinical activity accurately and comprehensively, and submit this promptly to the Information Department.
5. To participate in service and business planning activity for the locality and, as appropriate, for the whole mental health service.
6. To participate in annual appraisal for consultants.
7. To attend and participate in the academic programme of the Trust, including lectures and seminars as part of the internal CPD programme.
8. To maintain professional registration with the General Medical Council, Mental Health Act Section 12(2) approval, and to abide by professional codes of conduct.
9. To participate annually in a job plan review with the clinical manager, which will include consultation with a relevant manager in order to ensure that the post is developed to take into account changes in service configuration and delivery associated with modernisation.

10. MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.

14. Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
