Woodland Group are recruiting a Export Shipping Coordinator for our US team at our Head Office in Chelmsford, working closely with the Operations team. The Export Shipping Coordinator will report to the US Import Manager and working closely with overseas and UK teams and is responsible for liaising between internal colleagues, customers, overseas suppliers and transport companies to ensure an efficient operational service.

About the role
* Load and create job files in operational software.
* Contact with overseas shippers to arrange collection of freight.
* Develop and maintain effective working relationships with key customers to develop more business opportunities.
* Check, reference and finalise shipping documents in existing files.
* Ensure customers and internal colleagues are fully informed of the progress of their shipments.
* Communicate effectively with internal colleagues and overseas offices to progress files accordingly.
* Obtain all necessary information to ensure correct measures are in place and customer needs are met.
* Transfer electronic bookings (EDI) messages into relevant file format.
* Any other duties as required by management for the smooth and efficient operation of the department.
Personal Specification
* You have previous experience in Export shipping.
* You are well organised, prioritising and working within key deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* You have the ability to work thoroughly, methodically with an excellent attention to detail.
* You can work collaboratively with other members of the team as well as key stakeholders across the group.
* You have the natural ability and enjoy building and maintaining strong working relationships.
* You excel with a team environment as well as being able to work autonomously when required.
* You are flexible, adaptable, and open minded and respond well to the ever-changing priorities and challenges while remaining calm and focussed on getting the job done.
* You are proactive looking at ways to improve processes and have the initiative to put them forward and where possible into practice.
* You actively seek ways to enhance your knowledge and improve your performance.
* You are self-motivated, have huge drive and ambition – you thrive off achieving great success and helping to build a great place to work!
