Senior Educational Psychologists (SEMH Specialism)
Full Time/ part-time considered
Salford Educational Psychology Service (EPS) is excited to announce that we are looking for a talented and experienced Educational Psychologist to enhance our innovative and supportive team. We require a passionate leader and manager with expertise in the area of Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH). This is an exciting and important role that will make a difference at a strategic level for this group of children.
We are a values-driven service, evident in day-to-day interactions and the bigger decisions made about the service. The team is highly valued in the Local Authority and well regarded by local schools, families, and commissioners. We have fantastic relationships with our schools; over 90% of whom buy traded packages for in-depth casework and development work. All team members take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the service. There is a good balance of statutory and non-statutory work. EPs working within the service have reported that we are flexible, collaborative, and innovative: “You get to follow your interests and try different projects to learn something new”; “It’s a fun service to work for and people really care about what they do.”
We are a supportive, friendly, enthusiastic team where we are encouraged to apply psychology creatively to contribute to Council priority areas. We have good links with other Local Authorities, providing opportunities for regional and national collaboration.
We are looking for:
1. An experienced Educational Psychologist committed to offering the highest quality service to Salford children and young people, families, schools, services, and the local authority.
2. An ability to apply psychology creatively to maximize impact and contribute to Salford City Council priority areas.
3. A dynamic and hardworking team player who can work both independently and as part of a team.
4. A psychologist who is a good generalist in the first instance, child-centered, and an advocate for the vulnerable groups they serve.
5. Fully qualified and HCPC registered Educational Psychologists with leadership experience.
6. A well-developed specialism in using Psychology to support systemic change for children with SEMH.
You can expect:
1. Induction package for new starters.
2. Professional supervision.
3. Access to service resources.
4. A professional and supportive group of colleagues from within the service and the authority as a whole.
5. Continuous Professional Development opportunities.
6. Opportunities to lead and design research and projects.
7. IT support with email and internet access.
8. Administrative support.
